Pastoral Care and Wayfinder

Pastoral care at All Saints is designed to support students’ emotional and social development at every stage of their schooling.

In Junior School, pastoral care is integrated into daily classroom activities, helping students build positive relationships, manage emotions, and develop resilience. In Middle School, pastoral care is timetabled as a dedicated subject, allowing for deeper engagement with personal development themes.

A key component of our Middle School pastoral care program is the Wayfinder curriculum. This innovative, research-based program is designed to help students discover their purpose, strengthen their emotional intelligence, and build meaningful connections with others.

Wayfinder lessons are interactive and student-led, focusing on:

  • Purpose discovery: Helping students identify what matters to them and how they can contribute positively to their communities.
  • Social-emotional learning: Building skills in empathy, self-awareness, communication, and emotional regulation.
  • Resilience and wellbeing: Equipping students with tools to navigate challenges, setbacks, and change with confidence.
  • Identity and belonging: Encouraging students to explore who they are, what they value, and how they relate to others.

Through Wayfinder, students engage in reflective activities, group discussions, and creative projects that foster a sense of agency and self-understanding. The program complements our broader wellbeing initiatives and aligns with our Anglican values, helping students grow into thoughtful, compassionate individuals.
