Curriculum - Years 5 to 9
Curriculum
Our curriculum is based on the Victorian Curriculum, structured on a fortnightly timetable with 45-minute sessions —many extended to 90 or 135 minutes for deeper learning.
From Year 5, students begin specialist subjects such as science in the lab and hospitality, offering hands-on experiences that spark curiosity and deepen understanding. In Year 8, students begin selecting electives, supported by a subject information night for families—an important step in student choice and ownership of learning.
Every classroom is supported by a Learning Support Officer, ensuring all students can access the curriculum and thrive.

Technology Integration
Middle School students are required to bring their own portable computer to school. These devices connect to the school network and access essential learning software, supporting personalised learning, creativity, and digital literacy.
Excursions and Experiential Learning
Excursions are an integral part of Middle School.
Year 5 to 9 participate in excursions focused on connection, teamwork, and real world learning. These curriculum-linked excursions deepen the academic understanding through practical experiences.
Leadership and Growth
In Year 9, students can join our Leadership Program, which builds confidence, responsibility, and teamwork skills in preparation for senior school.
Throughout Middle School, students are celebrated for living out our school values, contributing positively to their community, and growing into thoughtful, capable young people.
Sport
Middle School students are introduced to more complex physical challenges that help them discover their capabilities and potential.
