Learning Support

At All Saints Anglican School, we believe that every student deserves the opportunity to thrive - academically, socially, and emotionally. Our Learning Support program is designed to ensure that students with diverse learning needs are empowered to succeed through personalised, compassionate, and evidence-based support.

A Thoughtful Transition Process

We understand that starting at a new school can be both exciting and overwhelming. To ease this transition, students with a diagnosed learning need are invited to attend 2–3 orientation sessions in Term 4, prior to the start of the school year. These sessions allow students to become familiar with the school environment, meet key staff, and begin building a sense of belonging.

In addition, all new middle school students are invited to arrive a day early prior to the first day of the school year. This extra time gives them the opportunity to receive their locker, explore the school grounds again, and settle in before the full cohort arrives—helping to build confidence and reduce first-day nerves.

Collaborative Planning and Support

At the beginning of each school year, all teachers receive a comprehensive profile for students requiring support. This includes suggested adjustments to help tailor classroom experiences to individual learning needs. Teachers are encouraged and supported to modify classroom activities, assessments, NAPLAN, and exams (up to Year 10), ensuring that all students can demonstrate their learning in ways that work best for them.

In-Class Support and Intervention

Our Learning Support Officers (LSOs) are present across all year levels and are available throughout the school day. They work alongside teachers to provide in-class assistance, helping to create inclusive and responsive learning environments where every student can participate meaningfully.

For students requiring additional literacy support, we offer a structured intervention program using the evidence-based MultiLit approach. This phonics-based program is delivered across all year levels and is designed to build foundational reading skills and confidence.

We also welcome the use of sensory tools in classrooms to support student regulation, focus, and engagement. These tools are part of our inclusive approach to recognising and responding to individual sensory needs.

Ongoing Communication and Holistic Care

Our Learning Support team works in close partnership with the Heads of School, Principal, and Wellbeing Team to provide holistic care that supports the whole child. Regular PSG meetings (held 1–3 times per year) and parent-teacher interviews (twice annually) ensure that families are actively involved in their child’s learning journey.
